Selena Encouraged Voting
The Disney star, Selena Gomez, responded to Carrie Underwood’s negative comments on politics. Selena says, “A lot of people do look up to certain celebrities and will follow in their footsteps. I think you just have to be aware of what you’re saying.” She goes on to say, “I’m glad that people are getting involved with the election. This election has been the biggest with celebrities.” Being under the age of 18, Selena is not able to vote. But she encouraged teens to vote and set up the UR Vote Counts. Voting booths were set up in malls, and as it turns out, teens wanted Obama too!

Michael Phelps was caught and apologized for this picture of him smoking pot from a bong. This was his apology: “I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment. I’m 23 years old and despite the successes I’ve had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry.
